Generational Immigration Project

For the generational immigration project, we conducted interviews with over 70 people ranging from the age 21 to 85 who are 1st and 2nd generation immigrants born in Turkey, Cyprus and England. We facilitated workshops with young adults, middle-aged and older adults through single generation and cross-generational sessions. Participants shared their migration experiences and life in the U.K. We received feedback such as ‘I didn’t even know about some of the racist experiences my sister was a victim to when we first moved to the U.K’.

We supported many participants with mending relationships within their families by facilitating the space for open communication. We created a space where friends, relatives and strangers could connect on experiences very few people were aware of about each other.
